On Sunday 1st December, from 5pm to 9pm, Devonshire Square will be proudly celebrating Jamaican culture and music by hosting in its atmospheric Western Courtyard ‘The Journey of Reggae’.
The event is a special edition of Devonshire Square’s annual charity concert, Soul Royalty Winter Festival, an evening of incredible live music curated and organized by international touring artist Zalon – who performed as Amy Winehouse’s lead singer for many years – in partnership with DSQ, with the aim of raising awareness of The Connection, London’s busiest homeless charity, and encouraging donations in aid of the charity.
Each year, the concert features different music genres. This year’s edition has been envisioned as an immersive experience that guides the audience through the rich history of reggae music while celebrating Jamaican culture and community spirit.
The event will showcase an exciting lineup of live reggae performances by some of the most talented artists in the UK, including Teshay Mckeeda, Dessie, Harmony Deja, and a special performance by Zalon himself.
With a live band playing hits spanning various eras of reggae – from ska and rocksteady to lovers rock and contemporary tunes – the event will captivate attendees with storytelling that highlights how Jamaica influenced the world through its music, fashion, dance, and more.
The show will also include an award ceremony recognizing individuals who have made significant contributions to reggae music and Jamaican culture.
Authentic festive Jamaican food and winter drinks will be available at the Caribbean Cultural Delicacies Corner.
The concert is a family friendly event and is FREE to attend; however, registration via the dedicated Eventbrite page is strictly required, as availability is limited.

Attendees are warmly encouraged to respond to Devonshire Square’s Giving Tree Appeal in aid of The Connection and bring along a gift to be donated to the homeless supported by the charity.
The Giving Tree, which will be located near the stage, is a unique Christmas tree entirely adorned with paper hearts, on which wishes expressed by the homeless supported by The Connection charity have been transcribed, in order to give them a chance to be read and honoured by visitors.
Donations in aid of the charity can also be made online by visiting the donation page of The Connection’s official website: https://www.connection-at-stmartins.org.uk/donate/.
