On Wednesday 30th August, from 12 noon to 3pm, Devonshire Square will be hosting in its Western Courtyard a ‘What’s Your Blood Type?’ event, organised in partnership with the NHS and Perkbox, one of DSQ’s occupiers, to encourage people to register to become new blood donors.
Representatives of the NHS Blood & Transplant Team will be on site to provide information on the initiative, and anyone keen to register to become a new blood donor will have the opportunity to find out their likely blood type on the day of the event, through a quick finger prick blood test, performed by the fully qualified NHS nurses and doctors.
This will allow the NHS Team to provide attendees with a tailored message about their specific blood type, and information on why this is useful and how often they would like you to donate.
This activity is very important to identify vulnerable and rare blood types, and to make participants aware of this.
After the test, attendees will learn about the lifesaving power of blood and the amazing difference that blood donors make.
The event is free to attend and open to everyone.
If you are considering registering to become a new blood donor, you can just approach the NHS Team on the day of the event, and they will be very pleased to provide you with any information you may need on this great initiative.
You are all warmly invited to attend the event and to join DSQ and Perkbox in supporting the NHS’s blood donation campaign.
