'Capricci Genovesi' Visual Art Exhibition - A Journey Into the Beauty of Genoa

From 14th to 31st October

From 14th to 31st October, Devonshire Square will be proudly hosting in its DSQube Art Gallery, the visual art exhibition ‘Capricci Genovesi’, featuring a collection of original artworks by multi-award-winning photographer, Fulvio Magurno, printed on sustainable Candiani jeans canvas.

Curated by the Comune of Genova’s Ambassador, Francesca Centurione Scotto Boschieri, the photographic collection highlights the stunning trompe l’oeil details that adorn the ceilings of the historical Genoese palaces known as Rolli, dating back to late 16th and early 17th centuries, now part of the UNESCO World Heritage.

As jeans textile was originally invented in Genoa, the project aims to reflect both the architectural and artistic refinement of the Rolli palaces, as well as the qualities and versatility of jeans fabric, which has been used for centuries by people from all over the world.

The event celebrates the cultural link between London and Genoa, and is part of the Festival of Music, Invention and Knowledge, supported by the Lord Mayor of the City of London, Michael Mainelli, the City of London Corporation’s Destination City programme and the Comune of Genova.

The vernissage of the exhibition will take place on Monday 14th October, from 5pm to 7.30pm. The curator will present the collection and be available to answer any questions about the cultural projects and the artworks on display.

Attendees will be welcomed with a complimentary glass of delicious Italian wine and a taste of fragrant Genoese focaccia.

The exhibition is FREE to attend and will be open to the public from 11am to 3pm, and from 5pm to 7.30pm, Monday to Friday.
