From Tuesday 9th August to Thursday 1st September, Devonshire Square will be proudly hosting in its historic Western Courtyard the 6th edition of its popular pool tournament “Cue for Change”.
The tournament, launched by Devonshire Square in 2015 to support important social causes, this year will be held in aid of The Connection, London’s busiest homeless charity. The event aims to raise awareness of the alarming increase of homelessness in London during the last three months – according to figures from the Combined Homelessness and Information Network (Chain) – while promoting social connection and encouraging people to share relaxing recreational moments.
The tournament is based on a “Winner stays on” rule, with challenges taking place daily, from Tuesday to Thursday, both at lunchtime, from 12.30pm to 1.30pm, and in the evening, from 5pm to 6pm.
There will be two pool tables available for the challenges, with the two remaining players battling each other to become the “Winner of the Day”.
Both tables will be open for use for the rest of the time, over the 4-week period.
The “Winners of the Week” and the overall winner of the “Grand Final” – which will take place on Thursday 1st September – will be awarded fantastic prizes, including a delicious and opulent Garden Punch for 4, generous Peroni buckets with 12 bottles, and an extravagant Aperol Tree to share with friends, offered by Devonshire Terrace restaurant, while the overall runner-up will enjoy a mouth-watering surprise from Cinnamon Kitchen!
The games will cost £1, with all proceeds going towards supporting The Connection homeless charity.
The tournament is open to anyone, and a subscription fee is not required. However, participants should register in advance by sending an e-mail to firstname.lastname@example.org specifying on what day and time they would like to play.
Non-registered participants will also be welcome but pre-registered participants will be granted priority to play on their chosen time slots.
Hurry up to book your place in the “Cue for Change” and join DSQ in supporting an important social cause!
Donations can also be made online through the donation page available on The Connection’s official website.
