On 22nd and 23rd May, Devonshire Square will proudly host the second edition of Vyshyvanka Fest London, a two-day cultural festival celebrating Ukrainian heritage, contemporary creativity, and cross-cultural exchange.
Taking place at DSQube – Devonshire Square’s Creative Studio – the festival will bring together designers, artists, cultural practitioners, and guests from across the UK and beyond for an immersive programme of fashion, art, workshops, and interactive experiences dedicated to Ukrainian culture and identity.
Organised in partnership with the Ukrainians in the UK Community and creative agency Volkova Agency, Vyshyvanka Fest London reflects Devonshire Square’s ongoing commitment to multiculturalism and its dedication to championing talent from underrepresented communities. Since 2023, Devonshire Square has worked closely with Ukrainian cultural organisations in the UK, offering a platform for visibility, collaboration, and creative exchange.
At the heart of the festival is the vyshyvanka, the traditional Ukrainian embroidered shirt, reinterpreted as a contemporary expression of identity, resilience, and creativity. Through fashion, design, and storytelling, the programme explores heritage as a living and evolving language.
Across both days, DSQube will be transformed into a vibrant cultural space, featuring Ukrainian fashion and lifestyle pop-ups, curated installations, and interactive experiences that bridge tradition with contemporary practice.
In line with Devonshire Square’s commitment to inclusion and cultural diversity, the festival will showcase both emerging and established Ukrainian creatives alongside international talent. Highlights include embroidery masterclasses led by visual stylist Zoreslava Deiak, cultural talks on regional embroidery traditions, and an art-therapy session titled Living Canvas: My Strength Between Two Worlds, facilitated by psychologist Julia Gassanova.
The programme will also spotlight creative and culinary collaboration, featuring signature FlatRed coffee by Ukrainian champion barista Vadym Granovskyi, reflecting the intersection of culture, craft, and hospitality.
The festival will open with a private press breakfast at DSQube, welcoming media, cultural partners, and industry guests for an introduction to Ukrainian culture through traditional cuisine, live embroidery, and creative dialogue.
Additional programming includes modelling workshops, influencer networking sessions, and interactive activations designed to foster participation and engagement across diverse audiences.
A key highlight of the festival is the Vyshyvanka Fashion Video Showcase, an international competition inviting creators to submit short fashion films inspired by Ukrainian heritage. Selected works will be screened during the event and shared across digital platforms, supporting global visibility for emerging creative voices.
Visitors will also be invited to take part in the Best Vyshyvanka Look Award, celebrating individual interpretations of Ukrainian-inspired style through community engagement and public voting.
Vyshyvanka at Devonshire Square reflects DSQ’s broader mission to foster inclusion, support talent from underrepresented communities, and create meaningful platforms for cultural expression.
Entry to Vyshyvanka Fest London is FREE from 2pm onwards on Friday, 22nd May. However, registration is required, and selected workshops taking place both on Friday 22nd and Saturday 23rd must be booked in advance as places are limited.
