From 6th to 17th November, Devonshire Square will be hosting ‘Where Art Meets Music’, an art and music showroom featuring a collection of original artworks by various artists from diverse backgrounds, including original art by award winning artists Nick Brown and David Noel.
Presented by Cole’s Art Gallery, the exhibition celebrates some of the most popular artists in today’s music panorama, and focuses on the influences of Jazz on the development of Hip-Hop genre, shedding light on the positive message the Hip-Hop music used to convey when the genre was originally founded in the early 70s.
The showroom includes a curated collection of original photography, vinyl records of cultural significance, as well as books and collectables.
Visitors will be taken on a journey through the contribution that Hip Hop has made to television, film industry and fashion, celebrating the achievements of female Hip Hop artists, such as Salt N Pepa, Lauren Hill of The Fugees & Missy Elliott, Queen Latifa and many more.
The curators will be available throughout the entire exhibition time to provide insightful guided tours of the showroom, and pre-booked talks with the artists will also be offered to both individuals and groups.
The showroom will be hosted in the DSQube Art Studio and will be open daily from 12pm to 7pm, including weekends.
Entry is FREE, and most of the items will be for sale, with 20% of all proceeds going to support local homeless charity Whitechapel Mission.
The launch event, featuring complimentary welcome drinks and conversations with the artists and curators, will take place on Wednesday, 6th November, from 4:45pm to 6:30pm.
