On Wednesday 7th December, from 1pm to 2.30pm, Devonshire Square will be celebrating cultural diversity by hosting in its atmospheric Western Courtyard a spectacular dance show – ‘From Sparkling London to Magical Sahara’ – executed by professional dancers from renowned London-based creative company, JL Productions, and multi-award-winning Middle Eastern dance school, Fleur Estelle.
Thematically inspired by the FIFA World Cup, the curated program has been envisioned as an imaginary journey from the vibrancy of London to the charming North African and Middle Eastern regions, through the transporting power of dance and music.
Dancing to the music of English artists Adele and Dua Lipa, the talented dancers from JL productions will be opening the show with an original contemporary dance choreography, inventively created for the event by former English National Ballet soloist dancer and choreographer Jenna Lee.
Internationally renowned Middle Eastern dancer and dance teacher Fleur Estelle – who has performed in various TV and film productions, including Walt Disney’s Aladdin in 2019 – will mesmerise the audience with two spectacular choreographies inspired by traditional North African and middle eastern dances, symbolizing women’s empowerment and the beauty of femininity, executed by a group of professional dancers from diverse backgrounds.
Attendees will enjoy a complimentary tasting experience of delicious festive treats from Devonshire Square’s restaurants Devonshire Terrace, Cinnamon Kitchen and Kenza.
The show is part of Devonshire Square’s ‘Art for Love’ Winter Festival, a 3-week program of world class artistic performances, organised and curated by the Devonshire Square Events Team to promote the arts and celebrate multiculturalism while supporting The Connection, London busiest homeless charity.
The dancers will be performing by Devonshire Square’s iconic Giving Tree, a unique Christmas tree entirely adorned with paper hearts, on which wishes expressed by the homeless supported by The Connection charity have been transcribed, in order to give them a chance to be read and honoured by visitors.
Donations in aid of the charity can be made online through the donation page available on The Connection official website: https://www.connection-at-stmartins.org.uk/donate/
The event is FREE to attend, however, registration by emailing the Devonshire Square Team on frontdesk@dsq.london is strictly required, as availability is limited.
