On Wednesday, 28th October, from 5:30pm to 7:30pm, Devonshire Square will celebrate Diwali, the Hindu festival of lights, by hosting in its atmospheric Western Courtyard its highly anticipated Diwali Festival!
The FREE-to-attend event – part of Devonshire Square’s multicultural events program – will come alive with the pulsating rhythms of traditional Dhol drummers from Drum and Groove UK, alongside spectacular dance performances by some of the UK’s finest Indian folk, classical, and contemporary dancers, presented by Akademi South Asian Dance UK.
The event will also showcase one of India’s most beautiful and traditional visual arts, Rangoli, created on-site by award-winning artist Miguel Rajaguru.
This year’s programme combines the beauty of the arts with a gastronomic experience, as guests will be treated to a complimentary tasting of delicious dishes prepared for the occasion by the executive chefs of Devonshire Square’s iconic Indian restaurant, Cinnamon Kitchen, following celebrity chef Vivek Singh’s original recipes.
The specialities served at the ‘Festive Curry Corner’ include Samosa Chaat with curried white peas, Kashmiri Chicken Biryani with Burani Raita, Shrimp Moilee with steamed rice, and Paneer Butter Masala with pilau rice.
The savoury offering will be complemented by a confectionery tasting experience featuring an assorted selection of Indian sweet specialities from various regions.
The complimentary tastings of festive delicacies will be available on a first-come, first-served basis.
As with all previous editions, the event has been organised and curated by Devonshire Square’s Senior Community and Events Manager, and is FREE to attend.
However, registration via the dedicated Eventbrite page, available here, is strictly required as availability is limited.
Alternatively, you can register your attendance by emailing the DSQ team on frontdesk@dsq.london.
