On Saturday, 23rd August, from 5pm to 9pm, DSQ will celebrate the richness of Caribbean culture and music with a special summer edition of its highly anticipated annual charity concert, ‘The Soul Royalty Festival’.
The event has been curated and organized by international touring artist Zalon – who performed as Amy Winehouse’s lead singer for many years – in partnership with DSQ, with the aim of raising awareness for The Connection Homeless charity and encouraging donations in its support.
This year marks the 10th anniversary of DSQ’s Soul Royalty Festival, a decade of unforgettable shows and community impact through music and charity. The event, in its inaugural summer edition coinciding with Caribbean Carnival weekend, promises an immersive experience that guides the audience through the fascinating history of reggae music while celebrating Jamaican culture and community spirit.
The event will feature an exciting lineup of live reggae performances by some of the UK’s most talented artists, including Teshay Makeda, Dessie, Harmonie Dejar, and a special performance by Zalon himself. With a live band playing hits spanning various eras of reggae – from ska and rocksteady to lovers rock and contemporary tunes – the event will captivate attendees with storytelling that highlights Jamaica’s influence on the world through its music, fashion, dance, and more.
The show will also include a special live radio broadcast by DJ Peter Terry on the Real Deal Network Breakfast Show.
Authentic Jamaican food and summer drinks will be available at the Caribbean Cultural Delicacies Corner.
The concert is a family-friendly event and is FREE to attend; however, registration via the dedicated Eventbrite page is strictly required due to limited availability.

Attendees are encouraged to respond to DSQ’s Giving for Good Appeal in support of The Connection and bring along a gift to be donated to the homeless supported by the charity. Donations can include non-perishable food, toiletries, sanitary products, and essential clothing such as socks, hats, and other items in excellent condition. All donations will be delivered to the charity via a dedicated courier after the event.
Donations in support of the charity can also be made online by visiting The Connection’s official website donation page.
You are warmly invited to join DSQ and Zalon for an unforgettable evening of music and community spirit in support of a great social cause.
