On Wednesday 14th February, Devonshire Square will be marking Valentine’s Day by hosting in its Western Courtyard ‘The Garden of Hearts’, an interactive installation created with hundreds of eco-friendly heart-shape red balloons, celebrating the power of love, and the comforting feeling of compassion and unity within communities.
As part of ‘The Garden of Hearts’, the trees along the historical Devonshire Square Avenue will also be in full bloom with red hearts balloons!
Visitors will be able to enjoy the unique photo opportunities provided by the installation, which will be open to everyone and free to visit.
‘The Garden of Hearts’ will be on display in the Western Courtyard all day on 14th February – from early in the morning until 6pm – while the decorations along The Avenue will remain up until the evening of Sunday 18th February.
Those visiting the ‘Garden of Hearts’ at lunchtime on Valentine’s Day (from 1pm to 2pm) will be treated to an exquisite heart-shaped dessert, ‘Oh my sweetheart!’, created for the occasion by Ukrainian confectionary artist Sofia Atamanchuk. This very special and delicious creation will be offered complimentary and available on a first-come-first-served basis.
Lovers and romantics wishing to treat their beloved ones to a scented bouquet of roses, will find an assorted selection of floral arrangements at the ‘Blooming Spot’ – the pop-up flower shop by floral artists Katie Sparrow – that Devonshire Square will be hosting in its Western Courtyard from 9am to 6pm, both on 13th and 14th February.
Visitors looking for a memorable Valentine’s gourmet experience, will find themselves in a foodies’ dreamland to explore, as all Devonshire Square’s renowned restaurants and bars will be serving a delicious variety of Valentine-themed dishes, cocktails and menus!
Dedicated to the British Heart Foundation, ‘The Garden of Heart’ has been created by the Devonshire Square Community & Events Management with the aim of raising awareness of the outstanding medical research work funded by the charity to fight all heart and circulatory diseases.
To support the charity, Devonshire Square will be promoting the #Nobrokenhearts fundraising campaign, which encourages the gifting of high-quality items, specifically clothing and books.
The campaign will commence on Valentine’s Day and will continue until 30th April. All gifted items will be donated to the local BHF charity shop and book bank to raise funds in aid of the charity.
If you wish to take part in Devonshire Square’s #Nobrokenhearts fundraising campaign, you can bring the items that you wish to donate to Devonshire Square’s Building 6 ground floor reception at any time from 9am to 5pm, from Monday to Friday, from 14th February to 30th April.
All donations will be delivered to the British Heart Foundation through a dedicated courier at the end of the appeal.
