From Monday 23rd October to Monday 6th November, Devonshire Square will be hosting the 2023 edition of its popular charity pool tournament “Cue for Change”, organised annually by DSQ to support The Connection homeless charity.
The tournament is based on a “Winner stays on” rule, with challenges taking place daily, from Monday to Thursday, at lunchtime, from 12.30pm to 1.30pm.
The event will take place in Devonshire Square’s atmospheric Western Courtyard, where there will be two pool tables available for the challenges, with the two remaining players battling each other to become the “Winner of the Day”.
Both tables will be open for use for the rest of the time, over the 2-week period.
The ‘Winners of the Week’ will challenge each other at the ‘Grand Final’ which will take place on Monday 6th November.
The games will cost £1, with all proceeds going towards supporting The Connection homeless charity.
Both the overall winner of the Grand Final and the runner-up will be awarded fantastic prizes, including a delicious brunch for two at Devonshire Square’s iconic Indian restaurant Cinnamon Kitchen, and a generous Peroni bucket with 12 bottles, offered by Devonshire Square’s trendy cocktail bar and restaurant Devonshire Terrace.
Enrolment
The tournament is open to anyone, and a subscription fee is not required.
However, participants should register in advance by sending an e-mail to frontdesk@dsq.london specifying on what day and time they would like to play.
Non-registered participants will also be welcome; however, pre-registered participants will be granted priority to play on their chosen time slots.
Hurry up to book your place in the “Cue for Change” pool tournament and join DSQ in supporting an important social cause!
Donations in aid of the charity can also be made online through The Connection’s official website.
DSQ’s ‘Compassion in Motion’
The ‘Cue for Change’ pool tournament is part of ‘Compassion in Motion’, a programme of charitable initiatives launched by Devonshire Square to raise awareness of highly deserving homeless charities Whitechapel Mission – which operates locally – and The Connection, London’s busiest homeless charity, which provides support to homeless in Central London. The programme also aims at supporting Change Please, a fantastic social enterprise which runs coffee outlets in various locations across UK, including Devonshire Square, and utilises 100% of the profits generated by their sales to support people experiencing homelessness.
